Consignment Sales in the Denver Metro Area

I am a huge fan of consignment shopping. Some people who know why I was nicknamed “Fancy Nancy” are surprised to hear that I would buy secondhand clothes. There are a couple of problems with this assumption and I will lay them out for you here.

1. I love a good deal and am sometimes/mostly always cheap (when it comes to clothes at least). I almost never buy clothes full price. I am always cruising the sales racks. 2. I happen to have a good eye for fashion no matter the price. Just because something looks cute does not mean I spent a lot of money on it. 3. I do not believe in paying lots of money for clothes that my daughter will grow out of sooner rather than later.

I think those are my 3 biggest points. Basically, consignment sales fulfill all of my requirements for shopping. You can find some really good deals, the prices are much cheaper than buying them brand new, and it’s good for the environment (recycling, duh!). When I factor all of those things in, there is no need for the guilt that some people experience after a shopping spree.

The other perk I haven’t mentioned is that you can recycle your own belongings and get a little money back for them, too. It’s a win-win in my mind.

The great thing about consignment sales for kids is that not only do you get a huge selection of clothes and shoes, they also have toys, books, movies, cribs, strollers, maternity clothes, and pretty much anything you can think of that a child or pregnant mom might need. Since consignment shopping has really helped me affordably fill my daughter’s wardrobe and toy chest, I felt obligated to share this wonderful gift with all of our readers.

Consignment Sales

I’m not the only one who loves consignment sales

As we transition in to warmer weather (minus the random snowstorm here and there), I thought this would be a great time to compile a list of sales coming up so you can stock up for spring and summer. Some of the events have already taken place for the spring, but I have included links to them here, so you can come back to this post in the fall to make it to the next sales event.

Boulder County Kids Sale

I have not been to this sale yet, but I am on their email list. The sale is organized by the Boulder County Parents of Twins and More, and has an inventory of over 15,000 items. You can purchase a VIP early shopping pass (to enter the sale at 7:30am) or an early shopping pass (to enter the sale at 9am). Here are the details for the sale:

April 23 10am-1pm at Boulder Valley Christian Church (7100 South Boulder Rd. Boulder, CO 80303)

Haute Tots Kids Consignment Sale

This is another sale I have not personally been to yet, but I hope to check out their next sale. They market themselves as an “upscale consignment sale for savvy moms.” Here are the details for their spring sale:

April 29-30 at Jefferson County Fairgrounds (15200 W. 6th Ave. Golden, CO 80401)

Just Between Friends (JBF)

JBF is a national consignment sale event. They have sales in 28 different states. I have been to about 3 of these sales in the Boulder area since we moved here a year ago, and each time I am able to find great deals. They usually offer an early shopping pass where you can shop ahead of the general public. This is reserved for volunteers, consignors, and for some of the events, people who buy a ticket to the presale. All of their sales include a day or 2 of further discounts (ranging anywhere from 25% to 75% off). They have sales in several different areas in Colorado. I have included dates for the upcoming ones below.

JBF Loveland/Fort Collins

April29-May 5 at The Outlets at Loveland (5661 McWhinney Blvd. Loveland, CO 80538)

JBF Greeley

May 5-7 at the Greeley Mall (2050 Greeley Mall Greeley, CO 80631)

JBF Longmont

May 12-15, 2016 at Boulder County Fairgrounds (9595 Nelson Rd. Longmont, CO 80501)

JBF Broomfield/Brighton

May 19-23 at Adams County Fairgrounds (9755 Henderson Rd. Brighton, CO 80601)

There are several other JBF sales in the area that have either just had a sale and/or will be having their next sales in the fall. I will include links to those pages here so you can check in with them for future sales: JBF Douglas County, JBF Denver, JBF Aurora, and JBF Arvada/Louisville.

Rhea Lana’s

Rhea Lana’s is very similar to JBF. I attended several Rhea Lana’s consignment events when I was living in Atlanta and loved every one. They just had their spring/summer sale at the beginning of April, but keep an eye on them for future sales in the fall. They are based in Southeast Denver, so the location for the sale will most likely be in that area. Just like JBF, they offer a day or two of discounted prices at the end of the sale. They also offer a pre-sale for volunteers, consignors, moms-to-be, and guests who have a guest pass to the pre-sale.

I hope this list is helpful to any moms out there looking to either get rid of some items by consigning them or add to their collection of toys, clothes, books, and more.

If you know of any other consignment sales in the area please share the love in the comment section!
