Winter Denver Date Experiences

Winter Denver Date Experiences | Denver Metro Moms Blog

Before kids, and before we were even dating, my spouse and I were friends. Too often, it feels like we are now just co-parents, ships in the night. When we go out on dates, it’s easy to resort to the standard dinner and movie, but I’ve found that going on experiences together makes me realize, “Oh hey, I like this person.” Instead of going big on Christmas gifts, my husband and I usually save our pennies to do a fun experience for our anniversary in January. Below is a list of Denver area experiential date ideas. These dates are more tailored to the winter season and you’ll want to be sure to check out sites like Groupon and LivingSocial, as they usually have deals for these types of things.

City

Ice Skating at Skyline Park: FREE if you bring your own skates, or a $2 rental.

TopGolf: Like no golf you’ve ever experienced before: score points on targets with microchipped golf balls. I’ve heard that people who don’t normally like golf love it.

Escape Room: This one is decidedly not for me (hello, introvert/control freak’s worst nightmare), but contributor Alaina recommended it to me. Use your detective skills to solve puzzles to escape a locked room. Go with a group of friends or just the two of you and get put in a room with others.

Denver Dinner Detective: Our friends did this and had a great time!

Go indoor rock climbing at ThrillSeekers.

Check out the new Star Wars: Power of Costume at the Denver Art Museum.  Even if you’re not a huge Star Wars fan, the details in the costumes are pretty amazing.

On a warmer winter day (over 40 degrees), get to know our city better with a Denver Segway Tour.

See a show at the Denver Performing Arts Center.

Mountains

Go ice skating at Evergreen Lake House. Bring your own sleds and check out the sledding hill nearby (park at the Evergreen Golf Course).

Snowshoeing/Fondue Day: Check out this LivingSocial idea deal for a fun day snowshoeing at North Fork Ranch, with a wine tasting and fondue experience after. Other favorite snowshoe trails: Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Tubing at Fraser Tubing hill (Check out other ski resorts for their tubing hills).

Take a romantic Sleigh Ride from Two Below Zero (one of our favorite things we’ve done here) or at Sombrero Stables.

Rent a Fat Bike at Snow Mountain Ranch near Winter Park.

Do you like going on experiential dates? What are some of your favorites?
