Thank You Notes From a Mom

Thank You | Denver Metro Moms Blog

November is my favorite month for many reasons: my daughter’s birthday, Thanksgiving, and it’s finally socially acceptable to begin playing Christmas music. Of course, November is also the month for giving thanks and being grateful, which is why I’ve created this list of mom thank you notes, modeled after Jimmy Fallon’s hilarious thank you note segment from “The Tonight Show.”

Thank you to my toddler, for throwing herself down in the middle of the cereal aisle, which kept me humble on a day when I felt like I actually had this parenting thing down.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you husband, for putting the empty peanut butter jar back in the pantry and for making me think that I actually had a decent lunch. That’s okay, I didn’t need those calories anyway.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you random lady at the park, for holding my baby so I could help my daughter wipe the bird poop from her hands.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you to coffee, for making me feel like I can do anything, as long as it involves cleaning a bathroom and ten loads of laundry.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you Amazon Prime, for allowing me to procrastinate and avoid taking two kids to the store, even if it means I have to order dish soap online.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you Daniel Tiger, for allowing me to cook dinner every night, and also for your catchy jingles.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you “fudge,” for sounding a lot like another word.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you Ursula, for being so hideously scary that my daughter insisted on sleeping with us for a week. I so enjoy getting kicked in the face all night.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you leggings, for being the unofficial toddler girl uniform. You really came in handy during potty training.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you cut off toast crusts, for being my breakfast every morning. You literally sustain me.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you Target, for giving me a reason to change out of my pajamas.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you Dr. Seuss, for writing books so nonsensical and difficult to read that I go to bed with a headache.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you coffee barista, for asking me if my baby is a boy or a girl. I should have known that two pink bows are better than one.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you wine hangover, for reminding me that I’m a mom.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you Trader Joe’s cashier, for subtly asking me before you offer my daughter a lollipop. You are my hero, and obviously a mom.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you TV show “This Is Us,” for making me miss the Bravermans just a little less.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you Christmas card photo, for being the opposite of joyful, because my husband and I haven’t had a good fight for a few weeks now.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you organic veggie fries, for giving my kids their weekly serving of vegetables.

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

Thank you Christmas morning, for providing my children with hours of fun, because when else would we have a house full of empty boxes?
