Summer in the Denver metro area can get HOT! We mamas love getting out to enjoy the weather, especially when we’re headed somewhere we can cool off with the kiddos and play! Check out our list of favorite area splash pads and pools that are fun for the whole family.

Ralston Central Park and Splash Pad – Arvada
Located in Arvada, this splash pad opens Memorial Day weekend and features walking trails, a playground, a volleyball pit, and covered seating on 20 acres. The large splash pad has sprayers, jets, buckets, and is sure to keep your little ones busy all day.
Apex Recreation Center – Arvada
Rainy summer days got you down? You can still have fun at this indoor swimming area with multiple pools and over 23,000 square feet of indoor water fun! With several slides, zero-depth entry, vortex pool, activity pool, lap pool, and adult and family hot tubs, there is something for every one
Great Plains – Aurora
This Aurora sprayground opens Memorial Day and has a baseball field, several covered shelters, and a playground, and a basketball court. The splash pads around here are suitable for a large age-span and feature a variety of spray features! We’re big fans of this one!
The Popjet Fountain – Boulder
The Popjet Fountain is located on Pearl Street in downtown Boulder. The fountains feature a variety of jets that randomly “pop up” and surprise children as they splash around. The fountain is situated next to many Boulder shops and restaurants, which makes it a perfect all-day summer adventure.
Broomfield Bay Aquatic Park -Broomfield
The kids will not get bored here with two slides, an interactive water play structure, an inner-tube slide, and a separate toddler pool
Elkridge Park – Castle Pines
Located in South Denver’s Castle Pines, this Park features a playground, walking trails, a climbing wall, and a maze in addition to the splash pad. The pad opens Memorial Day weekend and is surrounded by shady picnic areas so you and your children can rest in between splashes.
Centennial Center Park – Centennial
This 11-acre park has one several awards, including best playground in 528o Magazine’s “Top of the Town” issue. The park is located in Centennial on the North side of Arapahoe Road East of I25. The park includes covered shelters for gatherings, climbing walls, and two play areas in addition to the Nautilus water play area. The park also houses an amphitheater that’s used for live music concerts and other events throughout the summer.
Barnum Water Park – Denver
This Denver splash park boasts a view of downtown and includes a lake, a dog park, a bike park, and a variety of playing fields. The splash pad has several hoses, buckets, and sprayers, and is situated next to a large pool with water slides.
Pirates Cove – Englewood
This popular pool has it all and features a large play structure with dump bucket, zero-entry, a lazy river, three water slides, a competitive pool with diving board, a sandy beach area, and a spray garden that is tops for area splash pads!
The Splash at Fossil Trace – Golden
10 acres of fun in beautiful Golden, CO. Spread out on 10-acres of pools and splash pad fun with a view of beautiful Golden. The leisure pool has a play structure, beach entry, a children’s slide, two larger slides, spray cannons, and dump bucket. The lap pool has 8 lanes, a diving board, and open swim times during the day. There’s also a great splash pad for the littles who can’t get enough!
Westlands Park – Greenwood Village
Westlands Park is located in Greenwood Village off of Quebec Street. The park has been featured in Landscape Architecture Magazine for its innovative design, and was also chosen by 5280 Magazine’s editor as the top playground in the Denver area. There are three separate playground areas that feature a variety of climbing walls, slides, and swings. There are also several pavilions that can accommodate large parties. In addition to the fountains, there are playing fields, an in-line skating rink, and a viewing area.
Civic Green Park – Highlands Ranch
Located in Highlands Ranch next to the Highlands Ranch Library, this water park features two fountain areas that spray water intermittently, as well as a rock-bottomed creek. It is located next to an amphitheater and a big grassy area where kids can fun and play and a playground with covered seating.
Ray Ross Park – Lakewood
This splash pad is located in Lakewood and features a fun spray park designed to look like a baseball diamond. The interactive water play area is situated next to a playground and covered shelter areas so you can enjoy a picnic lunch after playing hard at the splash pad. Admission is free – always a huge bonus for splash pads!
Surfside Spray Park – Lakewood
If your kids like splash pads, this is your place! This spray park is located in Lakewood and contains both a large spray area and a smaller one for younger children. The park costs $1 per person for all day entertainment.
Sunset Pool – Longmont
With three diving boards, two slides, and a zero entry area, this swimming pool offers fun for all ages. There is also a covered patio, shelter rentals, and a concession stand to help you make a day of it.
Irving Street Park Interactive Water Feature – Loveland
This interactive water sculpture was designed by a Colorado artist from Loveland and is located next to the Irving Street Library in Westminster. The brass sculpture of a boy and his dog holding a hose squirts periodically from 10 am to 4 pm.
H2O’Brien Pool – Parker
Full of so much fun, it could almost be considered a water park! This pool has two 182 ft water slides, a water play structure, a spray garden, sprays and geysers, a circulation and lap pool, and dumping buckets.
City Park Pool – Thornton
Float down the lazy river, watch the 300 gallon water bucket soak those below, or ride down one of the winding slides at this fun pool. Wind down the day at the park next door, for a full day of fun. If your littles love pools and water fun, this is a must!
