There is no shortage things to do in the Denver area this summer! We’ve put together the Ultimate Guide to Denver Festivals and Fairs for family fun – and adult fun too!  — Whether you’re excited about getting your Renaissance on, enjoying local food and drink, magical experiences, or cheering on the Dragon Boats, there’s something going on in Denver to please everyone!

Renaissance Festival – June 16 – August 5 (weekends)

The Colorado Renaissance Festival, located in Larkspur, runs for eight weekends this summer beginning on June 10th. The festival features live music, an artisan market, a hypnotist, a living fountain, a jousting tournament, an endangered cat show, and much more! The family-friendly festival operates rain or shine and has been a Denver favorite for many years. So, dress up in your favorite renaissance attire and come enjoy a full day of entertainment and delicious food! Tickets can be purchased online for a discount and parking is free. 


Unicorn Festival – June 23

On Saturday, June 23rd at Littleton’s Clement Park, a magical event will take place: Denver’s second annual Unicorn Festival! The festival includes unicorn rides, a Little Mermaid meet and greet, famous princess playtimes, a castle maze, an arts and crafts castle, and much more. Tickets to the family-friendly event can be purchased online at a discount. The festival runs from 11 am to 6 pm, and food will be available for purchase. 


Cherry Blossom Festival at Sakura Square – June 23 & 24

Denver’s 46th annual Cherry Blossom Festival will take p2lace at Sukura Square in downtown Denver on Saturday, June 23rd and Sunday, June 24th. The festival celebrates the Japanese heritage and culture through live entertainment, food and drink, artwork, dancing, and live music. There will also be marketplace vendors selling jewelry, art, and apparel. Come enjoy a day of delicious food and learn more about the Japanese culture. Admission is free. 


Colorado Brewers’ Festival  – June 22 – 24

Living in and around the Mile High City, we hope you’ve been lucky enough to try out some of our incredible Colorado-brewed beers and understand why the Colorado Brewers’ Festival is on our summer MUST list! Over 40 Colorado breweries will feature over 150 Colorado beers! Also on hand will be food vendors, artisan exhibitors, and hours of live music. Special events include The Summit – a specialty experience featuring 60+ rare and small-batch beers, Breakfast and Brews – featuring festival beers paired with an exquisite breakfast, and the Noontime Notes concert series. This festival is a don’t miss!


SeriesFest – June 22 – 27

This award-winning television festival is dedicated to showcasing the best and boldest in episodic storytelling.  The festival is at Red Rocks Amphitheater and aims to bring together television creators, actors, writers, and audiences through competitions, sneak peeks, and premieres. On June 25th, SeriesFest Goes Country : A Night of TV & Live Music on the Rocks! The evening kicks off with a special screening of Yellowstone (starring Kevin Costner!), and will be headlined my seven-time Grammy Award-winning Lady Antebellum!

Denver County Fair – July 13 – 15

The urban county fair is three days of fair-ly weird fun at the National Western Complex! The weekend offers affordable family fun while showcasing Denver’s unique character and culture.  Bring the family and enjoy the largest DCF carnival yet, with more than 20 amusement rides, unicorn rides, games, bouncy houses, waterballs, and more!  The fair also includes a mullet 5k run, goat yoga, a cat show, a beer and wine fest, and tons of contests! Colorado Dragon Boat Festival – July 28 & 29

Don’t miss the 18th Annual Colorado Dragon Boat Festival, July 28th and 29th at Sloan’s Lake! Head out and enjoy the gorgeous Colorado weather, cultural eats, shopping, performers, and the exciting dragon boat races! 


Colorado State Fair & Rodeo – August 24 – September 3

The State Fair in Colorado brings together so much of what there is to love about the Colorado and summertime, so head down to Pueblo ready for fun! Enjoy the carnival with the family, check out the best in Colorado’s craft beer scene at Foam Fest, rock out to concerts and entertainment by the likes of Joan Jett and Old Dominion, laugh along with Larry the Cable Guy, check out the quirky vendors, hold your breath as you watch cowboys and cowgirls riding and racing in the Budweiser Rodeo Arena, and taste all the best food Colorado has to offer! A Taste of Colorado – September 1 – 3

Wrap up your summer with Denver’s signature Labor Day event since 1983 – A Taste of Colorado! This fabulous weekend features FREE concerts from over 35 national and regional artists, a marketplace with over 175 booths of arts and crafts, and food with over 50 different ways to experience local cuisine! The Kidszone features music, dance, magic, comedy, and crafts to keep the littles busy and having fun – this event is perfect for the whole family!
